What is the rationale for distance learning?
Distance learning allows your child to get the best tutor from across the country, allowing us to pair the best tutor to every learner. Distance learning also allows greater flexibility for both parents/carers and for our tutors, and cuts down on time and travel costs for our tutors. These savings can be passed on to you.
We have compared the benefits of remote learning and traditional face-to-face tuition over a period of 3 years and we have found distance learning to be preferable for both student and tutor, whilst both yielded identical results in terms of attainment.

Why employ only qualified teachers?
Qualified teachers have the best knowledge and understanding of the curriculum, the examination systems, and supporting learners with diverse needs. We believe our highly-rated feedback from parents and students is a direct result of employing this policy
What screening processes do your tutors go through?
All of our tutors are PVG (Disclosure Checked) and have to undertake an interview as well as a thorough application process before they work with us. We have a dedicated member of our team who has responsibilities for safeguarding of our students.
If I'm not happy with the first lesson?
We realise that sometimes that students and tutors don't always gel, so if you are unhappy with the first lesson then we will find an alternative tutor and pay for the next lesson.
What is the sequence of events when I request a tutor?
After you have let us know your requirements, we search our database of tutors to find the ideal match for your child's needs. We then inform you of tutor availability and organise the first lesson. We give you detailed instructions to help support your child join the virtual lesson.
What equipment and software is needed for distance learning?
All you need is access to the internet and a device with a microphone and speakers so you can talk to and can hear the tutor. Desktop and Laptop computers, tablets (e.g. iPad) or mobile phones are ideal for distance learning. There is no requirement for the use of a webcam.
Do I have to pay for lessons in advance or in blocks?
We ask that you make your payment for each lesson 24h before the lesson is scheduled to begin. If a lesson is scheduled for 8pm on Tuesday, then we ask that the payment is made by 8pm on Monday (the day before). This is to ensure we can pay the tutor and confirm the booking. There is no requirement to pay in blocks, however the facility is available if this is more convenient.
When is payment required for each lesson?

What if the tutor or we have to cancel?
If a tutor cancels a lesson then they will let you know this as soon as possible. You will not be charged for the lesson.
If you have to cancel, please contact us directly giving as much notice as possible. You will not be charged for the lesson.

What are your tuition rates?
Our rates vary depending on the experience of the tutor and the individual requirements of the learner. We always strive to charge a competitive rate whilst rewarding and retaining our fantastic team of tutors.
Typical Rates (one-to-one sessions*):
Primary Lesson (25 min) £20
Primary Lesson (50 min) £40
Secondary Lesson (50 min) £40
Secondary Lesson Advanced Higher (50 minutes) £45
*Group sessions will be available from time to time and will typically be up to 50% off.
